The global tectonic pattern

Web30 Jul 1993 · Abstract. Global analysis of NASA Magellan image data indicates that a major concentration of volcanic centers covering ∼40 percent of the surface of Venus occurs between the Beta, Atla, and Themis regiones. Associated with this enhanced concentration are geological characteristics commonly interpreted as rifting and mantle upwelling. WebGeological records show that there have been a number of large variations in the Earth’s climate. These have been caused by many natural factors, including changes in the sun, emissions from volcanoes, variations in Earth’s orbit and levels of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ).
